To premiere this October 2nd, Pocket Monsters: The Origin will featurethe characters from the original Pokémon Red & Green Nintendo Game Boy video games. A promotional video had also been released showcasing scenes from the anime special.
The anime's main character is named Red while his rival is Green, both are named after the original game's default player names. Professor Okido (Professor Oak), Gym Leader Takeshi (Brock), Red's mother, and Team Rocket are scheduled to make an appearance. Also featured in the promo are the Pokémon Hitokage (Charmander), Ishitsubute (Geodude), Kamex (Blastoise), Lizardon (Charizard) and Shiten'nō (Elite Four) member Wataru (Lance).
The story is set in the Kanto Region, the first region to be featured in the Pokémon game franchise. Here, in the fierce battle with Team Rocket's leader Sakaki (Giovanni), Red will encounter a strange Pokémon. Who could it be?!

Quien jugo en Game Boy los juegos Pokémon Red o Blue (Green en Japón) sabe a la perfección que la adaptación animada protagonizada por Pikachu y Ash… está muy lejos de ser la más fiel interpretación de la historia original.
Y es por eso que ahora Japón nos sorprende con el anuncio de “The Pocket Monsters: The Origin” una nuevo anime para televisión que nos mostrará una adaptación con los personajes originales de los juegos que incluyen desde el protagonista “Red” hasta sus rivales como Green (Blue), Takeshi (Brock) y Wataru (Lance).
El nuevo anime se estrenará en Japón el próximo 2 de octubre, de forma independiente de “Pokémon XY” que verá la luz el 17 del mismo mes.
